    Turkey Trots and November Racing

    It was a great month of racing for the team, who took advantage of the cooling temperatures to put up some fast finish times!

    Corum Hughes ran his first half marathon in Missouri at the Innsbrook Half, with a time of 1:34:23. Rita Donohoe was the 2nd OA female in the race’s 10k with a time of 50:42.

    Brandon Schneider placed 2nd in his age group at the Skippo 10K with a time of 47:27.

    Steve Moore was 2nd in his age group at the Saint Louis Track Club’s half marathon with a speedy time of 1:20. Stephanie Pruitt took first in her age group at the race with a finish of 1:36:04. The Big River relay team took 2nd place at the Track Club’s Marathon Relay in Tower Grove Park. The team came in at 2:46:03. Stephanie Pruitt was the 2nd female to finish the Honoring Our Heroes Half Marathon in Rolla (1:36:47.) Stephanie was also the fifth female and 1st in her AG at the Alton Great River Road Run 10 mile with a time of 1:11:55. Evan Rathgeb earned a PR at this race and came in 3rd OA with a time of 55:09.

    The team also made appearances in other parts of the country. Mike Flynn Was the 3rd male finisher and 5th overall in the Fall Freakin’ Fun Marathon in Kirkland, Washington (4:38:26) and went on to place first in his age group at the Prisoner of War 50K in Spartanburg, South Carolina (6:22:13.) Elaine Simms ran her first 50k this month at the Dead Horse at Moab. She finished in 6:50:19.

    Shane Briscuso represented Big River Racing at the USTF National Masters 5k Cross Country Championships, coming in 5th in his age group with a time of 21:05.

     

    Turkey Trots:

    A November race recap would not be complete without a list of Turkey Trot standings. Zach Legenzoff ran a 10 year PR at the Chesterfield Turkey Trot 5k, finishing 2nd OA with a time of 16:31. Brandon Dimitri took 2nd overall and earned a PR at the Ashburn Farm Thanksgiving Day 10k, coming in at 32:00. Stephanie Pruitt was the 3rd female OA at the Edwardsville Turkey Trot with a time of 20:52. Preston Jordan was 2nd in his AG at the Arnold Gobble Goble 5k (18:55), and Brandon Schneider was 2nd in his AG at the Saint Charles Turkey Trot (18:39.) Alyssa Jenks was first in her AG at the Valparaiso Turkey Trot with an 18:00 finish. Michael Treadwell ran a 22:19 at the Bowling Green Great Turkey 5k.

     

    Kirkwood Webster 3 Mile Race:

    Jon Petter: 3rd place AG and a new PR (17:27)

    David Baker: 1st place AG (17:38)

    Michael McCuddy: 18:23

    John Kertz: 3rd place AG (20:55, course PR)

     

    Kirkwood Webster 6 Mile Race:

    Julie Lossos- Snow: 2nd female OA (36:51)

    Sadie Smith: 3rd female OA (37:33)

    Big River Racing is about running in its purest form. We encompass racing and pushing one’s limits, accepting anyone who shares our passion for running.
