Originally from Omaha, NE, Kruger was a two-time state qualifier in cross country, claiming All-District honors his senior year. Kruger was twice named “Most Improved” on his high school cross country team. He came to St. Louis as undergrad. at Washington University in St. Louis where he was a staple of the cross country and track teams for four years. Kruger placed three times at the UAA Outdoor Championships in the steeplechase and also made an appearance for the cross country team at NCAA DIII Midwest Regionals. After college, Kruger spent time completing graduate studies at the University of Illinois before spending a year working in Kansas City. Now back in St. Louis, Kruger is primarily training for the marathon. He had his best performance to date last year at the Chicago Marathon, placing 49th overall with a time of 2:25:45.

Big River Racing is about running in its purest form. We encompass racing and pushing one’s limits, accepting anyone who shares our passion for running. The team is a dedicated group of like-minded individuals who train, race and socialize with the goal of improving the St. Louis running community through advocacy, openness and volunteerism. The team exists to support runners from post-collegiate athletes to those relatively new to the sport and anyone in between.
