    With the onset of the winter holidays, racing slowed down a bit in December and January, but the Big River Racing Team still showed up with some speedy times and podium finishes.

    Matt Kruger set a blazing fast marathon PR at the CIM Marathon, finishing in 2:23:54. Sadie Smith won the Saint Jude Marathon the same weekend with a time of 2:56:39. This was also her 100th full marathon. Brian Carter reached the halfway point on his 50sub4 journey at the Honolulu Marathon with a finish time of 3:47:43. Sadie Smith also won the Hawaii Bird Conservation Marathon with a time of 2:50:38.

    Brandon Dimitri and Stephanie Pruitt represented the team well and won the Hot Chocolate 15k on December 3rd. Brandon ran a 42:39 and Stephanie came in at 1:05:09. Brandon Schneider ran the Wil in the Woods 10 Mile Race in 1:17:37, taking 3rd in his age group. Ron Patrick came in 1st in his AG at the same race with a time of 1:24. Brandon also ran the Pere Marquette Endurance Trail Run and came in 2nd in his AG (1:04:01.) Zach Legenzoff came in 2nd place at the Santas on the Loose 5k (16:20) while wearing a partial Santa suit! Corum Hughes finished this race in 18:47. Ron Patrick and Sadie Smith traveled to Springfield, MO for Run for the Ranch to set state AG records in the mile. Sadie ran a 5:52 and Ron a 5:56. Ron went on to take 5th in the 5k with a time of 22:33, and Sadie was the 2nd female in the half with a time of 1:30:27.

    At the Tower Grove Frosted 5k, Julie Lossos- Snow was the 1st female and 4th OA with a time of 18:39. Matt McGinnis was 6th OA at 19:42, Shane Briscuso was 7th at 19:50. Connor Walters finished in 20:33, Michael McCuddy ran a 20:47 (as part of his workout), and Emma Mueller was the 2nd female at 21:24. Jessica Jordan ran a new PR at this race with a 35:01. Ashley Crannage ran the Way of Lights 5k in 21:23, taking 2nd OA female. Ron Patrick was 1st in his AG at this race with a time of 22:08.

    David Baker ran the Walt Disney World Marathon in a time of 3:41:37. Allison Wakeland also ran the Disney Marathon with a finish time of 3:56. Sadie Smith was the female winner of the Jekyll Island Marathon, finishing in 2:56:38. (This was her 50th race win.)

    5k- Sadie Smith: 19:21 (1st AG)

    5k- Ron Patrick: 20:16 (1st AG)

    5k- Shane Briscuso: 20:25 (1st AG)

    5k- Ashley Crannage: 21:25 (3rd AG)

    5k- John Kertz: 21:59 (4th AG)

    5k- Denise Buehrer: 32:33 (5th AG)

    5k- Jessica Jordan: 34:38 (PR)

    4 mi- Sadie Smith: 25:45 (1st female)

    4 mi: Shane Briscuso: 26:41 (1st AG)

    4 mi- Ashley Crannage: 28:15 (1st AG)

    10 mi- Julie Lossos- Snow: 1:05:35 (4th OA, state AG record)

    10 mi- Sadie Smith: 1:07:20 (7th OA, state AG record)

    HM- Benjamin Westhoff: 1:25:27 (2nd AG, PR on a freezing day!)

    HM- Michael McCuddy: 1:29:46 (PR on his coldest race ever!)

    20k- Preston Jordan: 1:28:22

    5k- Preston Jordan: 19:35 (2nd AG)

    5k- Emma Mueller: 21:25 (1st AG)

    Big River Racing

    Big River Racing is about running in its purest form. We encompass racing and pushing one’s limits, accepting anyone who shares our passion for running. The team is a dedicated group of like-minded individuals who train, race and socialize with the goal of improving the St. Louis running community through advocacy, openness and volunteerism. The team exists to support runners from post-collegiate athletes to those relatively new to the sport and anyone in between.
