Brian is from Washington, MO and attended St. Francis Borgia High School before running for Saint Louis University. During high school Brian was 2 x All State XC and 2 x All State track. As a Freshman at SLU, Brian finished 6th in the 10,000m at the USATF Junior Track & Field Championships earning All-American honors. During the rest of his time as a Billiken, Brian bounced between the mile & 10,000 distance finishing in Top 3 at the Atlantic 10 Championships 4 times with 2 runner up finishes in the Indoor 5,000m and the Outdoor 10,000m. Brian also competed in the 2011 Festival of Miles at SLUH finishing as the first collegiate runner in a PR of 4:06.81. Currently, Holdmeyer is trying to return from a series of injuries that have plagued him since graduating and is looking forward to getting a full year of consistent training under his belt.

Big River Racing is about running in its purest form. We encompass racing and pushing one’s limits, accepting anyone who shares our passion for running. The team is a dedicated group of like-minded individuals who train, race and socialize with the goal of improving the St. Louis running community through advocacy, openness and volunteerism. The team exists to support runners from post-collegiate athletes to those relatively new to the sport and anyone in between.
