*Time standard needs to have been met within the last year to earn or keep Tier 2 Benefits. Must run times on verifiable course under sanctioned events.
Any runner who is interested in training (and socializing) with a group and seeks to improve on their running performance. We welcome runners of all abilities from the back of the pack to those pushing the pace up front. Some of the team members will be post-collegiate runners and/or training at a higher level. For team members that have hit the qualifying times for “Tier 2” benefits (shown below) within the last year, Big River will give out additional support and benefits. Please contact one of the team captains if you have met any of these standards for more details.
To join you need to be an active participant with the team. This means that in order to become a full racing team member you must participate in group runs/races and other team events. These can be a simple Monday night group run from a Big River store, one of the workouts on the training schedule, a team service project, or a race on the team calendar. If it’s your first time, make sure to introduce yourself to other team members. Once you’ve participated in a few events, the team leadership will send you a registration link to join our club. Once you’ve registered, you will be added to our e-mail list and begin receiving team communications about upcoming workouts, meetings, and other events.
If you’re interested in joining the team, email the team leadership to request more information.
